In DC, my friends have President's Day off of work this week. In New Orleans, people have Mardi Gras off of work - to dress up in costumes, throw beads, eat king cake, drink anything with alcohol content and carouse in the streets from morning 'til night. Needless to say, this round goes to New Orleans.

I'm in New Orleans for the next couple of weeks, which is a happy accident that was planned well before I found out I was moving here for a while. I already found a new apartment that is perfect and my Anne Rice-loving 12 year old self is loving the chance to finally live in the French Quarter. I'm having fun figuring out how to make it functional and cozy for the next few months (inspiration board above).
